Bed and Breakfast Guests
You can check in from 14:00. If the room has been cleaned and is ready before 14:00, you may have access to the room earlier. Please be aware of our additional charge for early check-in. Early check in is from 12.00pm and the cost is £15.00. It's free and subject to availability if you booked your stay directly on our website: charneymanor.com
As Charney Manor is a Conference and Retreat Centre and not a hotel it does not have a 24-hour reception. If you are arriving after check in time, please still go directly to Reception, access will be available to you where you will find your booking details, directions to your bedroom and details of how to access your bedroom. There will also be an emergency contact number in case you have any issues.
Charney Manor is not a licensed venue and doesn't have a pub, however, there is the local pub called the Chequers within a 3-minute walk from the Manor.
Charney Manor is currently not serving food for Bed & Breakfast guests. The Chequers inn within the village is only three minutes' walk away from the Manor serving lovely meals
Breakfast is served at 7.00am - 9.00 am Monday to Friday and 8.00 am - 10.00 am on Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast is served in the Dining room in the main Manor house
Charney doesn't offer the option of Full English breakfast. We serve a full continental breakfast which is included in our rate.
Please contract reception and let them know your departure time. A member of staff will arrange an early self-service breakfast for you in the Dining room.
The Barn and Vokins buildings now have televisions with freeview channels installed for your entertainment. If your room does not have a TV, then there are two different TV/Social rooms for you to use.
Yes, Wi-Fi is available in all Charney Manors facilities and bedrooms
There are two travel cots on site, please ensure you pre-book to avoid disappointment. This is supplied at no extra charge and subject to availability. For bigger children we can arrange an addition mattress to be placed in the bedroom. Please contract reception to ensure this is arranged prior to arrival.
We don't supply Shampoo or conditioner. We do leave a complimentary shower gel in all bedrooms
If you have booked in for more than one night then yes, bedrooms are refreshed on a daily basis, which means cleaning the bathroom, refilling Teas and coffees, emptying bins. If you require fresh towels during your stay, please put them in the bath or the shower and these will be changed for you.
No, Charney Manor is a conference and retreat centre and not a hotel and therefore does not have a pool, gym or a spa.
No, Charney Bassett is a very small village, there is a Pub that serves drinks and food. The closest shop is in Southmoor 3 miles away.
Yes, we do. There is an additional charge of £5.00 per full charge
There are two acres of gardens to walk through and explore. There are two social rooms, one in the Manor house and the other in the lower Barn. There is a Library and a sitting room available. If there are groups on site, they may have booked one or more of these facilities, do ask reception on arrival for confirmation.
The room is yours until 10:0am as on your day of departure. If you wish to check out later than 10:00am, please contact reception. Please be aware that this is subject to availability and will have additional charge of £25.00.
You can leave your room key in Reception or put it straight into the designated key box outside of Reception
You receipt will be attached to your Guest Registration form which you will receive at Check in. A copy will also be sent out automatically when payment is taken. If you require a further copy, please email or contact Reception and another one will be send to you.
Yes, Charney Manor has ample free parking available for guests.
Yes, a list of available Taxis in the area can be found in Reception. Please ensure that you book in advance to ensure on is available.
Residential Guests
Please go straight to Reception and a member of staff will let you know which conference room you are due to use, when bedrooms are available, where to find the Dining room and arrival teas & Coffees.
Check in time is 14.00 pm, please come to reception and a member of staff will show you to your bedroom.
Please advise your course organiser if you expect to be delayed. This will allow the Conference organiser to make arrangements for your key to be left in Reception, access will be available to you where you will find your bedroom details, directions to your bedroom and details of how to access your bedroom.
Please let your course organiser know if you expect to be late. We will make sure that your meal is plated for you and left in the Guest fridge in the Dining room. Once you have found your bedroom then you can arrange to have your meal in the dining room. There is also a microwave for guests use.
Yes, Charney does cater for a wide variety of dietary requirements. Please ensure you have submitted your dietary information to your Course organiser to make sure that we cater accordingly. It a diet is extremely specialised, then there may be a supplementary charge of £7.20 per 24 hours.
Your course organiser will be your first point of contact. They will advise you of all the health & safety details of the buildings and its facilities at your first group session. They will also hold the master key in case any of the group lock themselves out of their bedrooms. If it is an actual emergency, Phil Trinder the Resident Warden is available overnight.
If you have booked in for a week, we will refresh your bedroom mid-week. We will change towels, clean bathrooms, refill coffees/ Teas and clean bins. Our Guests value their privacy and space and don't like the interruptions.

Yes, a list of taxi companies can be found in Reception. If you require to book a taxi prior to your arrival our preferred Supplier: Pete Duffy is available but must be booked in advance. Please contact the office for his number.
