Charney Manor, a 13th Century Conference and Retreat Centre owned by the Society of Friends (Quakers), known as a quiet and safe venue for delegates involved in conflict resolution and international affairs. We also provide facilities for groups which include charities, businesses, medical and research staff, musicians, authors and artists. You can expect that your stay at Charney Manor will be quiet and peaceful surrounded by beautiful gardens in a village setting.

Conferences & Meeting Rooms

Charney Manor offers a variety of meeting rooms and a range of facilities in a peaceful and inspiring setting for both residential and day conferences.  It provides an attractive venue for conferences, training events and retreats.  For Meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences and significant events, we have two large beautiful and historic rooms.

Programme of Events

Charney Manor hosts a programme of events throughout the year which seek to nourish the spirit through silence, deep listening and the invitation to explore issues and themes with both the heart and the mind. We believe there is something in our programme to interest a wide range of spiritual seekers, and we hope that both friends and those interested in the Quaker way will stay with us and benefit from the calm and beauty for such spiritual refreshment.

About Charney Manor

Charney Manor is an idyllic and peaceful retreat set in the Oxfordshire countryside. Some parts of the manor house date back to the thirteenth century, and it is regarded as a haven of tranquillity where people from across the country can come for reflection, renewal and relaxation. With its refurbished and comfortable rooms, tempting meals and delightful grounds, Charney Manor provides a warm welcome to its guests throughout the year. The manor house has a range of facilities and is available for conferences, group retreats and training events. These can either be for a single day visit or can be spread over several days. The manor itself has the ability to sleep 35 residents comfortably. For larger groups, we can extend our accommodation to include the Gillett’s cottage, this will increase our Guest accommodation to sleep 43 guests in total. All groups will be catered for by special arrangement.
