Programme of Events
Escape, Engage, Evolve
Charney Manor offers a thoughtfully curated programme of events throughout the year, designed to nourish the spirit and cultivate inner peace. These events create space for silence, deep listening, and personal reflection, while inviting participants to explore significant issues and themes with both the heart and the mind. We believe that through this balanced approach, individuals can discover meaningful insights, foster spiritual growth, and connect more deeply with themselves and others.
Our programme is intentionally diverse, with something to appeal to a wide range of spiritual seekers. Whether you are seeking personal reflection or simply a peaceful retreat to recharge, we are confident that you will find a retreat that aligns with your needs. Charney Manor is a place where all are welcome, and we aim to create an inclusive environment where Friends can come together in a spirit of openness and understanding.
We invite you to stay with us and experience the calm and beauty of our grounds, which offer the ideal setting for spiritual refreshment. Our retreats provide not only a peaceful escape but also an opportunity to reconnect with the deeper aspects of life, fostering an atmosphere of reflection, contemplation, and renewal.
We look forward to welcoming you and supporting you on your spiritual journey.
Our programme of guided retreats is thoughtfully designed to reflect both current interests and emerging concerns among Friends, while ensuring that all are welcome to participate. We aim to create an inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds and spiritual paths can come together, engage in meaningful reflection, and nourish their inner lives.
The costs for our events are outlined in the Events Programme, and to secure your place, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. We understand that financial circumstances may vary, so we offer bursaries of up to 50% for one retreat per person each year. You can apply for a bursary when making your booking. However, please note that we are unable to offer bursaries for the Experiencing Shakespeare event.
The Experiencing Shakespeare event will take place from 25th to 29th August 2025, led by John Lampen. This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with two iconic Shakespeare plays in a truly immersive way. Participants will watch and study A Winter’s Tale at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, followed by Two Gentlemen of Verona at the RSC’s The Other Place. These performances will be explored in depth, providing an enriching experience that connects the timeless themes of Shakespeare’s works with personal reflection and group discussion.
